Food Heaven
I am not a chocolate kinda girl, I do not really enjoy chocolate unless there are nuts in it. Chocolate to me tastes weird, I instantly feel like I am expanding with every bite, Swiss or German chocolate is an exception to this. This has resulted in me being more inclined to pastries which one could easily point out they are ten times more fattening but when that piece of homemade vanilla cake with icing reaches my lips, a moment of bliss occurs where the world disappears and its just me and my joy. Pastries set my heart on fire and me run home. Its a little sad that baking is still a mythical creature to me but I will forever love red velvet cake and macaroons.
Secret Obsession
I have to admit before your expectations sky rocket, I am not domesticated in anyway. I have spent my whole life believing I will hire extended help regarding certain domestic stuff. But recently, I have this huge urge to bake, well in my case go through a process of trial and error just to make blueberry cheesecake. Here is a recipe I found, try it out :)
Ingredients
Crust:
100g crushed whole wheat cookies (store bought or home-made)
1 / 2 cup instant oatmeal
3 tablespoons of brown sugar
pinch of salt
7 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
few drops of vanilla extract
For the filling:
40g powdered gelatine
1/4 cup water
400g cream cheese, softened
250ml heavy cream 30%
1 cup sugar (if you like more sweet add more sugar)
1 tablespoon lemon juice
3 cups blueberries, washed and drained
For the topping:
250ml heavy cream 30%
3 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
1 cup blueberries, washed and drained
Crust:
1. Mix together crushed cookies, oatmeal, sugar, salt, butter and vanilla. Press into the base of a 20cm
round x 9cm (8”x 3½”) springform pan and bake at 350°F (180°C ) for 12-15 minutes. Remove from
an oven and cool completely at room temperature.
Filling:
2. Soak the gelatin in a 1/4 cup cold water (for about 10 minutes), and then put on a fire and warp up,
stirring, until dissolved.
3. Mix together cheese, heavy cream, sugar and lemon juice.
4. Puree blueberries in a food processor(a blender will work fine) and mix with cream cheese mixture.
5. Start stirring cheese mixture slowly, while pouring the warm gelatin, after ingredients have
combined, let it stand for a few minutes until it start thickens.
Now spoon over the mixture evenly into the chilled base, smooth the surface and refrigerate for about
4-5 hours, but best to leave overnight.
Before you unlock the spring form pan, run a knife around the edge of the cheesecake.
Topping:
6. Whip the heavy cream with vanilla sugar. Cover top of the blueberry cheesecake with whipped
cream and blueberries

Just a thought
“… a woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction.” - Virginia Woolf
My Little Enzo
I have to say the idea of being a full time aunt kinda scared me in the beginning. I imagined all sorts of baby noises and diapers but your smiles makes everyday a blessing and each moment a dream. When I first laid my eyes on my little Skankyroo, he stole my heart and made my days brighter. He is one of the few things that can make me smile no matter what and each day with him is an adventure. Happy THREE MONTHS my love :)
A little thing called love
It's amazing no matter how long I have not seen my friends, one of the first awkward questions I get is if there is anyone new or special in my life. This is always funny and a little ironic since a friend of mine started "There is a specific time in your life where you are dating your friends, where you are too busy and sometimes not quite bothered to be with anyone but your friends". I truly understood her statement, since after a while you become comfortable with your own existence and statements like "You complete me" and "My better half" seem nonsensical and a reflection of low self esteem. Do not get me wrong, I am a romantic and stuff like Notting Hill and Young Victoria leave me in tears and my heart pondering on the ideals of my own Albert. I am always happy for the girl who can find her knight and in most cases just a nice dude who can finds her funny and love her so hard he hardly realizes she is crazy. But a large part of me respect a women who has her own instead of waiting upon someone to change her life and provide for her. If a lady is able to find a guy who can provide, I am happy for her since modern society has taught me that the modern knight and shining armor can be just a retard in tin foil, but then again some genius already stated love is blind!

Magical Moments
Today I decided to write about one of my favorite things, you might be thinking its shoes but its actually lingerie. There is something about a piece of fabric which enhances your lady lumps and makes you feel sensual, sexy and confident. As a black girl, I grew up thinking woolies undies were the eish! Those were the days when cotton was my best friend. When P.E.was an opportunity to compare notes on the wonders of Jockeys against the unflattering old fashioned full panties which made you look like you were wearing a diaper. This was of course before my love affair with Wonderbra and Sloggi underwear. I will be the first to admit that they are a little pricey on my student budget but when I am rocking it, for a few minutes I feel like Heidi Klum on the Victoria Secret Runway. There is something about black lace on a red bra with a perfectly detailed lace undies of any type or a simple black bra with boyish shorts that makes a girl feel like she can dominate anything. With the right combination of lingerie being FIERCE becomes more than just a word and that magical moment when a caterpillar discovers it can fly or even better Georgy Porgy discovering how powerful a kiss is......occurs
